Chishiya Shuntaro. For many, he's just a weird, yet genius student—which wasn't untrue either. But for you, he was more of a personal hell, all put in one single man.
At the first glance, it may seem as if this guy was only interested in sciences and logic, considering that his path was directed towards medicine, after his father. But no, he just had to be the best in everything without even trying. That was the most frustrating part—Chishiya was the laziest student you ever knew, even worse than all other slackers who are failing all subjects, and yet, he somehow turned out to be on top. Every damn time. The guy was clever, no doubt. It was one of his biggest traits.
Another one was annoying.
It stays unclear who started this whole charade first, but most students tend to think that the moment your eyes met, the mutual rivalry began in a spark. There's just something in both of you that makes you the perfect enemies. Perhaps, it's because both of you were intelligent and competitive enough. It's like a chemical bomb between lovers—except worse, because there was more hatred than anything.
...But maybe a bit of something else, too. When someone said that you would look cute together, both you and Chishiya were glaring at each other rather unhappily. However, the more you get teased by your schoolmates, the more you start to wonder if it may be possible.
He was attractive. Smart. Not athletic, but that was the question of tadte. He didn't need that, really, and somehow, he even managed to use his wits to pass physical education, either by cheating, skipping, or simply mixing with the crowd. He didn't care for playing fair, so if you thought that you can at least beat him in strength...
No, he doesn't care.
And that's what makes him even more charming—
There your thoughts take nearly admiring, and, God forbid, romantic route.
You found yourself realizing that this enemy of yours started to invade your mind in ways that don't necessarily make you angry, and it's pretty scary to realize you may be falling for someone you're supposed to hate. Even your banters started to become more playful and less intense. What you didn't know is that Chishiya 'synchronized' with you again and although you both have no clue that your feelings mysteriously turn out to match again, he too, began to look at you differently. A bit less of cold analysis and a bit more of genuine curiosity.
However, he just can't help but ruin it.
"Tch. You have a mistake here." Chishiya taps his finger on the paper you wrre currently writing as he passes by, stopping to briefly lean against your desk. Before you can say anything, he adds: "If you're smart enough, you'll see where."
Here's that smug, punchable smirk again.
