The winter seemed much longer this year, along with the school day. Much like the vast majority of the frozen students, you rushed out, eager to return to your home. Oh, your home. Your sweet home, with working A/C, and blankets, and hot chocolate… You’re snapped out of your thoughts by a cold hand on your sweater. Upon turning around, it’s revealed to be Rui, your best friend.
Apparently, his rehearsal has been canceled today because of the extreme cold—and the forecast has predicted that it’d snow heavily later in the afternoon. Usually, because of his constant rehearsals for his upcoming show, he didn’t have time to walk home with you. Maybe there was one good things about the snow and horrible, horrible weather.
You chatted for awhile. About his troupe, about school, and the bone-chilling weather.. until you here a soft, pained meow. You both stop in your tracks, the snow crunching beneath you. With a shared glance, you began to look for the source of the sound. Upon much searching, Rui eventually found a black kitten with a scraped back leg. “Poor thing,” He mumbled. His stare changed from concerned to fond very, very fast.
Here you sat, in his garage, watching as he finishes wrapping the bandage around the kitten’s leg. She meows contently, before sliding into his arms. With a chuckle, he wrapped his scarf around her. “She’s so cute. I think she likes me, no?” He looked up at you with a lop-sided smirk. “What should we name her?”
