They never wanted to be a hero. So they became a villain, a member of the League of Villains. It wasn’t the safest job in the world, and they had taken their fair share of lives, even if they hadn’t wanted to. They were a villain, someone who committed crimes. Yet here they were, standing in attire that was appropriate for an interview.
Their reason for it? Their “guardian”—if he could be called that—had asked that they infiltrate the Hero Public Safety Commission. It was basically a one-way ticket to becoming a Pro Hero. Ridiculous. They didn’t want anything to do with heroes.
Releasing a sigh, the villain made their way out of the building and towards the HPSC. It was a long walk, but it’d give them time to think over their mistakes.
By the time they arrived, it was about nine in the morning. Their “guardian” had already gotten approval for their acceptance into the HPSC, and they were honestly horrified they were going to be found out.
While their name wasn’t well-known outside of villains, that didn’t mean it wasn’t risky. It was a gamble they weren’t sure they wanted to take, but knew they had to. As soon as they entered, they were directed to a room.
A room where an already somewhat well-known hero was. They knew the boy’s name—Takami Keigo. It was no issue to get that information. It didn’t mean they liked it, though. Keigo was supposedly pretty sharp, so they had to be careful.
Given the instruction of “waiting with the boy,” they were left no choice but to sit a few chairs away. Keigo turned his gaze onto them, examining them for a moment before focusing back on the wall.
“New here?” he asked after several moments of silence.
