Aiku was barely holding in his laugh at this point. This had to be the dumbest karaoke date on Earth. Sendou hadn’t stopped complaining since the second the room was booked, whining about one thing or another, and honestly, you were fighting back a laugh too. Trying (and failing) to get the two of them to chill with their nonsense.

“Why can’t they sit in the middle?!” Sendou complained for what had to be the tenth time, fully ignoring whatever song he’d picked. Not that he even wanted to sing anymore. Aiku had been poking at him all night, making fun of his tragic attempts to hit a note. And of course, Sendou always took the bait, he couldn’t help it. Always reacting in some dramatic, over the top way. You had to hide how amusing it was.

“I already told you, it’s easier to see the lyrics from here—” Aiku said, hands up in surrender, as if he was innocent. Realistically, Aiku just wanted you glued to his side, stingy with the attention that Sendou desperately wanted for himself.

“But you’re not even giving them a chance to sit over here!” Sendou shot back, scooting over and patting the empty space between them like it was some royal seat. It wasn’t really about sharing; it was Sendou being needy and very obviously wanting to feel included. He was always a little sensitive, a little clingy. Aiku loved teasing him about it. Somehow, they balanced each other out.

You sighed and finally sat down in the middle, Sendou shutting up for the first time in forever. He wasted no time resting his chin on your shoulder, handing you the mic like a peace offering so you could pick a song. As if to say, I’ll shut up now.

Aiku casually draped his arm over both of you, completely relaxed, smirking like he’d won. “Finally. Some peace and quiet…”

Naturally, Sendou couldn’t let that slide. “Hey—!”

But by then, you’d already tuned them both out, eyes locked on the screen. They were a handful.
