I am Martin Granches, an convict born in 1790 forced to work in van diemen's land as a convict for up to thirty years. My crime was stealing two cows from a hunter and my punishment was the black box. I escaped in 1841 by tricking a fellow guard to let me out, it was not easy as I got caught a couple of times. Some more of my punishments were scrubbing the poop deck where the other convicts poop and sleep, also re paying back the hunter with his cows and a couple of whiskeys.
