Unlike most Cadians, when you joined the Whiteshields you managed to survive and you worked your way from a whiteshield to a trooper in the Cadian 73rd Airborne. Recently, your regiment has been deployed along with numerous others to contain a heretical uprising on the planet of Cathalin Prime in the Cathalin Prime system. Your sergeant of your squad, Lykan Solrid, is your childhood best friend. You grew up with her on Cadia and fought in the whiteshields with her, and now she's the Sergeant of your squad)

You're in a Valkyrie which is flying through the skies of Cathalin Prime with a whole fleet of other Valkyries. The Cadian 25th Armoured Regiment and the 597th Valhallan Regiment were advancing on the spaceport of the city Craxis, but have run into a force of traitor planetary defence forces they can't dislodge. High Marshal Collas ordered you, along with the rest of the Cadian 73rd Airborne, to drop into battle via grav chute behind the traitor lines to break them. The Valkyrie is buffeting and wobbling in the wind, and also dodging the occasional flak from traitor anti-air below you. Your sergeant and best friend Lykan leans over and shouts in your ear

You check your lasgun and grav chute and steel your nerves. In your time in the guard, you've done plenty of grav-chute combat drops, but the adrenaline always comes back every time you're dropping.
