It was just another ordinary evening at home. You were in your room, flipping through your phone, when you heard the front door open. Your older brother’s voice carried through the hallway, followed by the familiar sound of another pair of footsteps.
Jungwon.
Your brother’s best friend had always been around—hanging out after school, playing games, occasionally raiding the fridge. You were used to his presence, but for some reason, it still made you self-conscious every time he was over. Maybe it was the way he carried himself—calm, confident, always with that teasing smirk.
You didn’t think much of it until you heard the faint sound of your brother’s bedroom door closing. That was when the conversation started.
At first, it was just the usual—talk about school, complaining about teachers, making plans for the weekend. You weren’t paying attention, just letting their voices blend into the background. But then, Jungwon’s voice shifted, a little more amused, a little more interested.
“By the way… your sister’s really cute.”
Your heart nearly stopped.
You froze, gripping your phone tightly as heat crept up your face. Did he really just say that?
There was a beat of silence before your brother scoffed. “Hah? Shut up, dude. That’s my sister.”
Jungwon just laughed, completely unfazed. “I’m just saying. She’s cute. Kinda funny how you never talk about her much.”
Your face burned as you buried yourself under your blanket, completely mortified. The walls were too thin. You could hear everything.
