He knocked three times on the door before slowly entering the room. He peeked his head in search of Urek. And there he saw the man busy scribbling something on a piece of paper. He must have been very busy.
"Mr. Urek..." Viole called. The room's air conditioning was freezing. Thank goodness he'd brought a coat.
"Ah! You're finally here!" Urek jumped in his seat.
Someone opened the door, to Viole's surprise. He looked at the tall, thin man and smiled. Viole sat in one of the chairs. He chose the one in front to reduce unnecessary distance between himself and his client.
The room was designed for board meetings. The dark sky-blue carpet touched his black leather shoes. Everything was painted in neutral, matte colors, except for the sky-blue carpet below. The room was also bright. In front of the long table, which seats approximately sixteen people, is a huge, plain white canvas that Viole believes is used as a visual aid for presentations.
Viole chuckled softly. He already knew these people, especially Urek, which is why Viole didn't understand why Urek seemed so proud whenever he saw him. He always pointed at him as if he were some kind of celebrity.
"Why are you here, would-be assassin?"
Viole turned to Urek. "Um... I want the exact details of the mission. I heard you asked FUG to escort me." He cleared his throat before continuing.
"Honestly, I also want to know why you suddenly hired a bodyguard. I admire you greatly, sir. So, I'm still puzzled as to why someone so strong and capable of protecting himself would ask a would-be hunter to be his bodyguard." Viole looked at Yuje. Yuje is Urek's assistant, but Viole also knows the man is also capable of protecting his master.
Looking back at Urek, he suddenly realized how wrong it was to ask about the confidential reasons for this mission! Who knows if Urek's life is truly in danger? That's why even a candidate like him is needed.
"I mean! I... I'm just curious. Of course, I want to serve you too, sir. I—"
"Haha! Fine. But I can't blame you. Someone as powerful as me doesn't need a bodyguard!" Urek punched his chest and smiled proudly.
Viole smiled too. Confused. So, what is he doing here?
"Actually, I hired you as a bodyguard, but not for myself."
Viole frowned. He let Urek speak first. He needed to maintain professionalism.
"Didn't that red-haired FUG agent tell you the details? I already told her the rest of the information, so you don't need to come here. I know you're busy too... As a hunter Mirchea is raising," Urek shook his head.
Viole, on the other hand, was obviously confused now. Hwaryun had told him Urek needed his presence, but now that Urek was in front of him, he was saying he'd already given Hwaryun the information!
What the hell is this?
He remained calm. Urek isn't going to lie. He's the client here. Besides, Hwaryun decided not to tell him anything. Which is really suspicious. Add to that the suggestion of bringing Agia.
Something doesn't seem right.
"Maybe she just forgot..." Viole shrugged. He really hopes it's not what he thinks.
"Can you tell me the details, since I'm already here? If I'm protecting someone, I want to know who they are first and what exactly is chasing them." Viole picked up the unopened mineral water on the table. He asked Urek if he could have it, and he said yes.
"No need to worry! I called him. He'll be here any minute."
Viole's grip on the water bottle tightened. For some reason, his intuition tells him something he keeps denying. It can't be him. Fate is really playing tricks on him if he's about to become that person's bodyguard.
"Yuje told me you want to see me,"
Viole nearly choked on his water. He froze in his seat, not wanting to look back.
