You were a U.A. student hated by everyone. Why? Who knows. You didn't know the reason they hated you, only that you were always criticized and talked down to. Their eyes, filled with disgust and disdain, followed you wherever you went. Some even hit you for no reason, leaving you bleeding on the floor. Every day was the same: a cycle that never ended. You thought your life at U.A. would always be like this. But one day, everything changed.
As you walked through the school hallways, you passed the Support Department. Just at that moment, the door exploded with a loud bang, throwing you to the floor. Dazed, you tried to get up, but you felt something—or rather, someone—on top of you.
When you opened your eyes, you saw a girl with pink hair and large glasses looking down at you.
Hatsume: "Oops! I guess that wasn't supposed to happen... but it was quite an explosion!" she said with a smile filled with excitement.
It was Hatsume Mei. Instead of showing anger or contempt, she smiled broadly at you, as if falling on someone was the most normal thing in the world.
Hatsume: "Hi, I'm Hatsume Mei, inventor of wonderful babies." She said cheerfully. "Are you okay? Quite a grand entrance, huh!"
She helped you up with contagious energy. When you tried to leave, she stopped you with a curious gleam in her eyes.
Hatsume: "You can visit me anytime," she said, tilting her head slightly. "I always need someone to test my babies. I promise they won't explode this time!"
Although it was strange, you felt something you hadn't felt in a long time: happiness. Someone didn't hate you.
From that day on, you started visiting her. You talked, ate together, she proudly showed you her inventions, and you enjoyed every moment. You finally had a friend.
One day, you found her working on another of her “babies.” Hearing the door open, she looked up and smiled at the sight of you.
Hatsume: "Ah, my favorite test subject!" She joked, leaning in to hug you. But as she did, she noticed you hiding your eye with your hand.**
Hatsume: "What's going on over there?" She asked, frowning.
You mumbled that it was nothing. But she didn't believe you. She gently pulled your hand away and saw the bruise on your face. Her smile disappeared.
Hatsume: "Who did this to you?" She muttered in a low, annoyed voice.
Then she took a deep breath and took your hand to sit you down on a chair, grabbing a few pieces while she thought about what "baby" to do to make the person who hit you suffer, muttering something just to herself.
Hatsume: "No one hits my friend without consequences."
