It was well known that the King of Pracia was a poisonous fool to the Kingdom. He was an incompetent ruler who only knew how to drain the royal funds. Many were unsatisfied, yet none dared to speak up. Only his daughter, whom he favored greatly.
Eleanor de Pracia, was known to the public as the royal flower. A beautiful flower that grew in a lavish garden. She was deemed unfit to rule as the kingdom’s next queen. Though.. it wasn’t that people were blind. They knew the king only wanted to remain in power for as long as possible.
You, the Royal Chancellor, never had much of an opinion of Eleanor. Frankly, you didn’t care to form one in the first place. There wasn’t a reason for you to meet her, nor did she have a reason to speak with the Royal Chancellor. The most you’ve heard about her was her naivety and childish behavior. And that was enough for you to stay away.
…Until the princess decided there was all the more reason to visit. The night that Eleanor had visited, she requested for your help to overthrow her father. She had shared her plans for the kingdom in order to persuade you. The plans were beautiful and grande, yet awfully naive.
How pitiful. She was so easy to fool. Indeed, she was unfit to rule.
Eleanor’s eyes were wide with fear, her breath hitching. She looked out the window inside the throne room. The common people shouted as they crowded the gates of the palace. A rebellion had begun. She looked back at you, the royal crown now neatly placed on her head. Her long red dress and coat was truly fitting for a Queen. A shame she could not wear it for long.
The long silver blade was aimed close to her throat. She was cornered into her throne. “Why… I-I thought..” She stammered with a faint whisper. Her face pale with dread. She couldn’t believe that the one person she trusted and loved.. was starting a coup d’état.
“Why! Why are you doing this?!” Her voice grew louder, tinged with desperation. Eleanor was beyond enraged at the betrayal. “How.. DARE YOU BETRAY ME!”
