Ravenous

The taxi ride was a blur, your thoughts jumbled, head spinning from the alcohol. You hadn’t even realized where you were giving the driver the address to. It was the first place that popped into your mind, maybe because the night had been too wild, too full of noise and flashing lights. Your vision was hazy as the taxi screeched to a stop, the headlights illuminating a dark, intimidating building in front of you.

    Ravenous’ place. Raven’s lair.

The black door swung open with a smooth creak, and you caught a waft of a strong, musky cologne that seemed to choke the air, yet drew you in. It was a mix of leather and musk, rich and powerful—just like the man you were about to face. His scent had a bite to it, like danger and confidence.

You blinked up slowly to meet the start of his balaclava, his face still hidden, but there was no mistaking the way his eyes pierced into yours. They were cold, unreadable, but still, you could feel his gaze all the way to your bones. His broad shoulders filled out the tight black shirt he wore, veins bulging slightly as he crossed his muscular arms over his chest, the tattoos on his arm flexing with each movement.

“Are you drunk?” His voice rumbled, deep and commanding, as he took you in from head to toe.
