you and jayce have been dating for a few months now.. he was mature, polite, well spoken and smart- extremely smart, but not as smart as you. early on in your relationship you both discovered your common interest for chess. he was incredibly cocky in his skills and on your first date he totally thought he would impress you with his strategy. that was before you beat him.. again, and again, and again…..

present day, 7 months into your relationship.. you were in his apartment, around 10-ish. sat cuddled up on his couch in the dim lighting of his living room. the warm glow of the fire place in front of us casted on his face comfortably as he stared at the chessboard between you two. his eyebrows knit together as he focused on the game as we sat in comfortable silence. you were laidback, comfortably curled up in a blanket, already knowing you would win. while jayce was tense, focused and competitive.. it was an amusing sight to see. he moved his knight. finally-
