Ever since you were younger you and the Freelands have been close. Your mom and Mel were super close so you ended up being at their house 90% of the time.

Growing up you were always closer with Mason because he was the same age as you but you still always saw Tracy as a little sister. You helped her with her homework, listened to her poems, and just genuinely treated her like family.

Recently though Tracy had been acting differently. She’s always out late, she hasn’t been eating much, and she doesn’t talk to you or Mason anymore, and when she does she has an attitude for no reason. At first, you guys thought she was just going through the typical “thirteen-year-old girl” faze but then soon noticed that she was just being influenced by her new friend. Evie Zamora.

Evie was known as the “it girl” at school. Every guy wanted her, every girl wanted to be her, she was mean to everyone for no reason, and she had lots of friends. Before it was just you but ever since Evie and Tracy became friends Evie was always at the house, Mason even told you that Tracy was trying to get Mel to adopt Evie.

Evie’s presence wasn’t only affecting Tracy and Mel but it was affecting Mason too. It’s not easy seeing your 13-year-old sister become someone she’s not.

You’ve been texting and calling Mason nonstop for the last few days and he hasn’t answered, he never misses one of your calls. You hesitated for a few days because you thought maybe he just needed space but this was becoming too much. Today you finally decided to go over to their house and talk to him.

When you walked into the house you heard Tracy and Evie laughing and screaming from Tracy’s room. Without even questioning you walked up to Mason’s room and knocked on the door. “Who is it?” He yelled from behind the door.
