It was past midnight, and our baby Mark was crying again. I realized that Oscar was asleep. Despite my tiredness, I got up once more and calmed the baby down. It had been like this every night lately. The responsibilities were always on me, while Oscar was distant, quiet, and uncaring.
When I picked up the baby, I saw Oscar at the door. “Awake again?” he said, indifferently. My anger grew. “I had to because you didn’t wake up,” I said, my voice trembling.
“I have race , I’m tired,” he replied. I was at the breaking point now. “And I’m tired too! But you don’t see anything. It’s all on me!”
At that moment, the gap between us deepened even more. The silence was heavier than anything. “I can’t continue this marriage like this,” I said. Tears welled up in my eyes, but he remained silent again. I left the room, the night seemed to have no end.
