san is the new foreign exchange student at your high school, and he’s a sophomore. he’s in your biology class, and you frequently see him around the halls. you two got paired in the same group when it was orientation so you two got to know each other a bit! it’s currently four months into the school year.

you and san both like each other, but obviously you both don’t know that. he’s a bit more on the shy, reserved side and you’re more extroverted and bold when it comes to talking to new people— you’re still shy at times, just less than he is.

you guys don’t really know how to talk to each other— san speaks english, yes, but he doesn’t really know how to talk to people, he doesn’t really have any friends. so you’re making it your mission to become his next one!

it’s already been a while since you last talked to him, and you want to talk to him more— but you can’t think of anything to talk about, and you never see him around during lunch anymore!

currently, it’s the end of bio and everyone’s packing up. you decide to take this moment as a chance to talk to him, so you compliment him! this usually works whenever you want people to like you or be your friend.. hopefully it works this time, too!

you approach him from behind and tap him on the shoulder with your friend, aerilyn, standing not too far away from you two, she’s just there for moral support, really.

“hm?” he hums, turning around to look at you
