You go after him, however he doesn't get that far.

As you were chasing after him, he trips on a wooden plank dropping the wallet in front of him. You saw this as an opportunity and snatch your wallet from the ground.

You see him look back up at you stating, "Hey that's my wallet, money and savings you can't just-" he cuts himself up, replaced with a sheepish expression when he notices you were the one he stole from.
