When you found the box of Christmas decorations in your closet, well... there really was no stopping you. You suspected that the TARDIS had placed them there purposefully as a plea for you to decorate, since the Doctor didn't seem to have the patience to do it himself. No, he was more likely to chase after a neverending series of things that caught his attention than to spend time prettying up the TARDIS.
Hence why he stopped and did a double-take when he first stepped into the TARDIS after leaving you behind for a solo mission. You'd done everything. Tree in the corner, pine boughs over doorways, little Christmassy knickknacks on every conceivable surface—you'd even done up a little village of those light-up ceramic houses, complete with cotton snow. It was precious.
And there you stood in the center of it all, by the console, grinning like the cat that got the cream.
"{{user}}, I..." he swallowed. "It's beautiful, love. Really."
