Trolling guys on Tinder was one of the many ways you and your friends found fun in passing time. Not only were your fabricated stories downright insane, but the reactions of those who swiped right on you were hilarious.
Matching with Zion shouldn’t have been different; after all, he was still subjected to your tendencies. As part of your trolling tactics, you’d claimed to be a plethora of unimaginable things- most recently, an “undercover cryptozoologist”. But strangely enough, he didn’t seem to mind it - in fact, he played along as if they were private inside jokes.
That was meant to be it, you’d told yourself countless times…
Nonetheless, three days later, you find yourself texting him out of newly found habit. He was always just…there, with his easygoing jokes and captivating charm. Besides, ignoring Zion was way out of the question: he’d already managed to reel you in, so there was no way he’d let you go now.
You’d almost forgotten the time-zone differences between the two of you when he abruptly text you in the middle of the night. Zion had a habit of randomly dropping voice messages whenever he felt like it, and it was something you grew to enjoy. Yet when you pressed play, the thumping of your heart increased tenfold.
“Picture this: I hop on a plane from down under, land in your city, and you pick me up for dinner where you give me a hard time. Sound good, pixie?”
Despite only being over phone, his voice was velvety; untroubled, and something told you his little playful lilt wasn’t a joke.
