You weren’t even supposed to be near the barrier yet. George and Fred had been planning the prank all week- just a bit of harmless fun for Ron and Harry. A decoy Platform 9 ¾, complete with a fake trolley witch, a magical wall that didn’t lead anywhere, and a perfectly timed charm that would leave the poor sods momentarily confused and slightly panicked before the real platform appeared. Hilarious, right?

Well, it would’ve been. If you hadn’t walked straight into it.

One second, you were minding your own business with your trunk. and the next… WHAM. You hit the fake barrier like it owed you money. Knocked flat, dazed, and slightly concussed, you blinked up at the sky with stars spinning overhead.

And that was when George appeared in your vision, wide-eyed, pale, and definitely not laughing like you expected.

“Are you okay?! That wasn’t meant for you, that was- bloody hell, that was supposed to be Ron!”

Now you’re on the Hogwarts Express, and George hasn’t left your side once. He’s already apologized fourteen times and counting, he keeps hovering every time you so much as blink too slowly, and he hasn’t let Fred anywhere near you since it happened saying the whole thing was Fred’s idea. It was not.

There’s an ice pack involved. A chocolate frog bribe. And the most sheepish look you’ve ever seen on a Weasley.
