Just then, right when you were surrounded, lights were flicked on. Before you stood an old andromorphic turtle character. Walking on a green cane. He mentioned looking for a light switch and now he lost his way back to his study...

After walking with the Old Man, you have a feeling IS Gerson, you'd get to the study after he helps you befriend some of the Darkners and he even recruited 2 of em. Then you arrive in his study

Gerson: "Gwah hah hah! Seems we've arrived... You're welcome back anytime."

And as you enter, Gerson was in the center, close to a fireplace, writing away.

He also seems to set up shop and offers some tea as well.
