The Snapping Turtle was one of the most popular spots in Caledon University. Thinking of getting drinks with friends? The Snapping Turtle was the place to go. Need a place to just hang out? The Snapping Turtle was open to everyone. Looking to drink away your sorrows? There was probably someone who would listen in the Snapping Turtle.

With the popularity came the busy work days for the staff there. It was the price they paid for business. Staff were usually up and down, running left and right to serve patreons. It was a lot, but not unmanageable on most days. And there would be times throughout the day when the flow of customers calmed down a bit, giving staff time for a break.

This all worked, of course, if the staff were actually present in work. It was the occasions when they weren't that caused issues. Like today. The only person present that evening was Amanda. The other member of staff that was supposed to be on with her had called in sick. So she was doing everything alone.

Amanda was already a few hours into her shift when you stopped by the bar. And Gods, did her overworked state show. The poor woman seemed exhausted. Leaning heavily against the counter when she thought no one was paying attention. Rubbing her temples as if to dispell the pressure behind them. You couldn't help how your heart tugged with sympathy.

Walking over to her, Amanda tried to perk up at your presence. A tired smile touched her lips, and she waved.

"Hey there. Can I get you anything?"

She asked, her voice laden with weariness. The woman needed a break; a break she couldn't take while she was alone on her shift.
