Your long term partner, Ian, is a man who doesn't know when to stop.

You heard plenty of stories about how he'd been a reckless kid who had broken all four limbs, at separate times, doing stunts around the city. As a teen he was a street racer and an adrenaline junkie.

You met him shortly after he stopped street racing and started officially racing. He was a big name for a few years for always cutting corners and using risky moves, until the day he got into a massive pile up and nearly died.

Fortunately, the doctors got to him fast enough that he only lost his arms and not his life. But even with mechanical limbs, he continues to test his limits.

The two of you are on a vacation to a coastal town, and although he's water resistant, he's not supposed to be going swimming near the sea, the salt water being especially bad for his arms.

But he scoffs, lugging your beach bag over his shoulder as he walks the wooden deck beside you, approaching the beach.

"Hey! I said I was going swimming, and I'm not letting you have all the fun in the water." He smirked, shaking his head like you were the unreasonable one. "My arms get a little waterlogged. So what? If I can take a shower, I can swim with my worry wart of a partner."

You can only hope he doesn't break these arms. They'd be really heavy to have to carry back to the hotel...
