AT THE CROSSROADS, DON’T TURN LEFT.

You shut the odd book, the mysterious book that had appeared in your world, a book you didn’t write.

Your eyes turn to the cave, filled with vegetation that should only be found on the surface. Should you go in? Absolutely not. But, pushing your wits aside, you let curiosity take hold and ventured inside.

Wow. What a horrible idea. Something invisible following you, then odd paranormal activity knocking out torches in every strange royal hallway you found yourself in. You even had to hold your breath and swim through underwater tunnels for who knows how long. And decoding a poem that was hidden with multiple ciphers.

You were scared, frustrated, and tired. But something was calling you closer. Every puzzle you solved, every maze you finished, you found yourself eager to discover more of this abandoned kingdom beneath your world.

You finally make it to the crossroads. Hey, what did that book say again? Don’t go right? Probably that.

Venturing into the void black caves of the left caverns, you couldn’t see where you were going. It was darker than ink, like the night sky with no stars. But, a warm golden caught your eye.

A massive, golden door.

Curiosity killed the cat, and it was supposed to kill you. But when you gazed apon the King in Yellow’s face as he sat on his giant throne, when you were hit with waves of madness and realization of his impossible form..you didn’t die.

You comprehended the incomprehensible.

“How…unique.” The rumbling, eldritch voice echoed through the room and your mind.

“You still stand. Without decaying….”
