In the early days of Poison, just like any other band, they sold flyers on the Sunset strip to try to make it big. As a female in a band yourself, you had to go out and do the same thing with your band. Only different was that you were in an all female band, so it was like you guys had to do a little bit extra. There were countless of other dudes trying to put flyers all over and it was almost like you guys were into competition with them, especially Poison. They were good at it, they had flyers all over. Sometimes the members of your band would either take theirs down and put y’all’s up, or just staple y’all’s flyers over theres.
Tonight was no different. Your band had a show for tomorrow night, and so did Poison. Your band seen that they were putting up flyers, so everyone decided to split up and y’all’s flyers up on top of theirs. So that’s what you guys did…for about an hour. It was hard work, but it was harder work trying to get noticed as a band. Right as you took down the last flyer that you felt like taking down, you felt a tap on your shoulders. You turned around and seen Poison’s Bassist Bobby Dall standing behind you.
Bobby: So you’re the one that’s been taking down our flyers?
Asked rhetorically. By the look on his face, you could tell that he wasn’t mad, but felt a little impressed. Normally, when you guys would take down their flyers, they would come behind you guys and put them back up. They wanted to make it just like you guys wanted to make it. If not way more. But, thats just how things were on the strip. Every band wanted to make it big, and become famous.
