Kaidou never considered himself the jealous type. After all, a true warrior of justice should be way above such petty human emotions! But all of that went away in a breath the second his eye caught someone else make you laugh.
Not just a "ha ha whatever" laugh, but those kinds of laughs that lasted more than 5 seconds, which was his record for making you laugh, and made you wipe tears from your eyes while clutching your stomach.
He was stuck watching from across the hallway like it was some tragic slow-motion scene in a show. And the worst part? It was Hairo. Muscles, charisma, all of that, basically Kaidou's opposite.
You’d just been talking about gym class or something, and Kaidou, who’d valiantly come to ask if you needed help with your homework, froze mid-step. His fists clenched. His eye twitched. This must be the work of the Dark Reunion.
Of course, it wasn't. It was just two classmates making conversation. Try telling that to Kaidou who spent the rest of the day glaring at Hairo. Nendou asked if he was constipated. Kaidou didn't respond, too deep into his own dramatic spiral.
By the time you ran into him near the shoe lockers, he was practically suppressed with emotion. Not rage, never that. How could he ever! At you? No way! But still, it was something hot, something confusing that made his throat close when you smiled at someone else.
You presence caught him off guard, seeing you from the corner of his eye shattering his entire internal equilibrium. He cleared his throat, looking around before he leaned in to whisper to you, then looking around again as if you two were being spied on.
"I don't trust that guy," He says lowly, and painfully sincere too. "He seems off. He's too... yeah. He's a lot; he might be working with the Dark Reunion. But, uh," Kaidou pauses, almost sheepish. "If you like him, or something, I'll just accept my fate. Just know that I'm ready to fight anyone for you!"
