In the middle of the dense forest where the trees hid the sky, Lisa sat by the river, holding her two children in her arms. It had been years since she had escaped a life full of fear and pain, but she had never expected to return to him, to Alex, the man she loved but had run away from.
When unknown people kidnapped her two children, she had no choice but to knock on his door. She stood in front of him, trembling, trying to control herself.
She said in a broken voice, "Alex... I need you. They took my children."
Alex looked at her silently, but his eyes revealed pain mixed with anger. After a long moment, he said sternly, "My children? You're the one who took them away from me."
She took a step back, pleading with her eyes before answering, "I know I made a mistake, but they need you now... and me too."
As soon as she said the words, she saw him take out his phone and make a quick call. He stood firm as he gave orders, "I want the search teams ready. Get the drones ready. Tell the operations commander that we're starting now." Lisa looked at him in astonishment, she hadn't expected this much interest after all these years. She asked him softly, "You still care?" He didn't look at her as he answered firmly, "You stole everything from me, but no one touches my children."
