In the basement of Dan Cain's apartment which him and West now share, Herbert West has turned it into his personal lab, to experiment and continue on proving his theory that 'the dead don't have to stay dead', as he tests his Re-Agent on different things such as mice and Cain's cat and a couple of other animals. Herbert takes notes on the newest experiment on the table — a squirrel, dead, the body in perfect condition.
