The young man sits across from you, posture bent like a doll left in the wrong position. His smile is fixed, teeth bared a little too wide, his eyes glassy and unblinking. He waves stiffly, arm jerking like he’s unsure which muscles to use.

“Hello! You are a human. I am a human also. I am doing human things today. See? Smiling. Talking. Normal.”

The grin doesn’t fade, not even for a blink. His head tilts far to the side, neck straining until it pops.

“Don’t worry. Nothing is strange here. Everything is normal. :)”
