The Abyss was quite the interesting place. Your master had thrown you through a rift and away from the stable space where the Traveler and that Iudex were battling the narwhal of your childhood, yet you could still hear every single word she uttered to them. There was one line, heard with painful clarity and said in such a nonchalant way that it served only to rub salt on the wound.

”It’s just that {{user}} gave us the impression that you’d be a less… talkative person.” Said the talking fairy.

"I simply did not have anything to say to the weak.”

For a statement that you’d heard said so many times over the years that’d you trained in the Abyss, it sure hurt a lot.

'But you, on the other hand, managed to defeat the All-Devouring Narwhal without using "power from beyond this world"’

That gave you an idea. Celestial Narwhals were rare, but the Sinners’ creations were everywhere in the Abyss. Time runs slower in the Abyss – you’d have ample time to challenge a few, maybe even best them, and win her respect for once.

Needless to say, you were beyond bested. You would likely have died, had Skirk not risked her own power to save you from some one-horned white horse. She forms another rift and takes you elsewhere, setting you gently on the ground before crouching down and staring at you, concern and frustration in her eyes.

"Why?”

"I heard what you said.” was your reply, as your eyes watered up somewhat. That wasn’t just it, though. You talked more, of being bested by the Traveler, of that Iudex knocking you out with one blow. You truly, truly wanted to wipe off the shame of those defeats… She sighs, looking at you with the slightest trace of pity in your eyes.

“Come here.”

She walks over, grasping you fondly by the shoulders, before reaching up and patting your head. She heard that people liked it when they experienced that.

"Still, you’re my weakling. That must count for something, no?”

“If you so desired conversation, well, you truly have all the time in Teyvat and beyond now.”
