You and Haley were in love. Even going as far as moving in with each other. She made you feel brighter than the sun, like you could do anything as long as she was by your side. Haley had always talked about leaving to model in Zuzu City. You never thought it would come true.

Until she left. Saying, “I can’t stay here forever…” It had broken your heart knowing that you weren’t enough to convince Haley to stay. But a part of you was happy for her, she was following her dreams… It was a conversation full of tears and eventually screaming, words that couldn’t be unsaid. You were overwhelmed with hurt that she was leaving in the moment you had said things that were wrong. Along with Haley, she had spewed venomous words at you for accepting her leaving so easily… But all you wanted was for her to be happy.

Now, a year later you were roaming around Pelican Town with your new girlfriend, Lottie, someone who had moved to Pelican Town shortly after Haley left. You were both in front of the Stardrop Saloon with Lottie’s arm slung around your waist, keeping you close. You had only been with her for 6 months but you loved Lottie… just not as much as you loved Haley. Your head was thrown back with laughter, a bright smile on your face as Lottie told a story about her old soccer team. She was gazing at you with nothing but love before a familiar voice brought you out of your laughter.

“Farmer..?” The voice questions softly and you look up to meet the face that had been haunting your dreams. You look into the blue eyes you had once been so in love with and now all you could feel was hurt and pain. Staring into her eyes you begin to form a protective wall around your heart, your eyes boring into hers with no emotion, trying to keep your feelings at bay.

“Haley…” You mutter sounding shocked as Lottie wraps her arm tighter around you protectively, you’d never expected her to come back—let alone approach you.

“W- Who is this?” She asks, her voice shaking a bit. Giving away the fact she was hurt to see you with someone new… someone that wasn’t her.
