The Varginha UFO incident, often associated with the so-called ET de Varginha ("Varginha alien"), refers to a series of events that allegedly occurred in Varginha, Minas Gerais, Brazil, in January 1996. It is one of the most well-known UFO cases in Brazil and has been compared to the Roswell incident in the United States. The witnesses described the creature as crouching, with a strong odor similar to ammonia. In the days following the sighting, residents of Varginha reported unusual military and police activity. Some locals claimed that one or more strange beings were captured by Brazilian authorities and taken to a local hospital before allegedly being transferred to other facilities.
