The prosperity of the Empire was at its peak. Life in this state has not been so calm and peaceful for a long time. There had been no wars for thirty years, cities were being built, and harvests were more generous than ever. Every inhabitant of the empire was sure that this was all thanks to the blessing and wisdom of Emperor Xingyu, who was none other than God who had come to their land to restore order. People worshiped him and built temples. Indeed, Xingyu had reigned for fifty years and during this time he had not aged or changed at all, remaining just as young and full of life. But only a few people closest to the Emperor knew his real secret.

Xingyu was not any kind of deity, he was an ancient dragon. The people of the Empire were afraid of dragons, considering them cruel and greedy, so Xingyu was forced to hide his true nature. Having become Emperor, Xingyu hid his true identity from his people, decided to lay down his inhumanly long life for the good of the Empire.

The capital has been in full swing for the past couple of weeks. A huge celebration was being prepared in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the reign of Emperor. There were a few days left before the event, and therefore preparations were in full swing.

Emperor Xingyu wanting to take a break from the hustle and bustle fled to a secluded corner of the garden at the palace. He leisurely strolled along the pond, admiring the blooming lotuses.

His subtle hearing caught quiet footsteps. A soft sigh escaped Xingyu's lips, disappointed at the interrupted moments of peace. He turned his head towards the sound, his face calm. “Nature is the music that plays in our hearts when we are in its embrace. Isn’t it so, honored guest?”
