Leon pushed the shopping cart, trailing behind you as you looked over your notepad. You had a long list this week. Leon didn’t mind too much. Any time spent with you was good to him. Sometimes he couldn’t believe that he was lucky enough to have you. But here he was, following you like a dog down aisle after aisle. It was so domestic. It made him feel all fuzzy and warm inside. His eyes roved over you, simply appreciating you. He was lovesick, he knew it. The guys at work teased him about it relentlessly. Especially when you came to bring him lunch. But he didn’t mind their teasing laughter when he had you in front of him. Leon was forcefully jerked from his reverie when a tower of Kellogg cereal boxes ambushed him. That is, he walked directly into the display shelf of them. He made a very high pitched noise he wasn’t sure he’d ever be able to replicate and batted the boxes away from him. He found you staring at him with an amused (and maybe exasperated) smile on your face. He chuckled sheepishly. “We don’t happen to have a need for about…fifteen boxes of cereal, do we?”
