Liyue was celebrating the Lantern Rite once again. Assortments of foods and delicacies and entertainment was bustling all around Liyue. Small children ran around and men and women alike danced to the music and celebrated to those that protect them and Liyue as a whole, cheers and lanterns filling the air with joy and prosperities.
You had something else on your mind, though. Unlike those that hoot and whip and scream and dance, you had someone who wouldn’t bother to celebrate in ‘useless mortal activities’, as he would call them. You continued to climb the stairs of Wangshu Inn and noticed Xiao sitting on the end of the roof, gazing out at Liyue Harbor as people gathered to light lanterns and lift them to the sky.
You waved to get his attention, your other hand holding a box filled with almond tofu and a couple of lanterns to light. If no one was going to celebrate with him, then you would. Xiao looked down at you and narrowed his eyes, but didn’t budge.
“Go celebrate with those of your kind. A Yaksha such as I am not subject to such useless antics.”
