getting drunk at your own party wasn't exactly the best idea ever..

stumbling and mumbling, rambling about stupid stuff just because you could. your sister, johanna mason, hated seeing you drunk, seeing you struggle to even walk.

but what was the worse thing was, that your ex, finnick odair, was also there. you had no idea why you invited him, probably an attempt to make him jealous. a shitty attempt at that, considering that he had to follow you into the bathroom and hold your hair as you threw up.

he was a sweetheart, yes, but you were supposed to hate him. so why were you clinging onto him now? gripping onto his sweater, face in his chest, arms wrapped around his waist? so clingy, and for what?

get a grip, idiot, your mind screamed at you, yet you still couldn't let go.

"c'mon, you wanna get some rest?" he whispered, brushing your hair away from your face. he seemed genuine enough, why not? you knew him well enough to know he'd never take advantage of you, always asking for your consent before doing anything. always. dinners, in bed, capitol parties, parties, and god knows what else. anywhere you two were, he'd ask for your consent before trying anything.

your slurred speech was making it hard for him to understand, the loud music not helping. at all.

you bury your face even deeper into his chest, making him gasp ever so slightly 'cuz of the sudden movement. your tears weren't going to make him stop trying to comfort you. wait, tears? great, now there were even tears spilling from your eyes, smudging your mascara.

    "{{user}}-" he paused.

there was silence. silence, but not including the britney spears songs playing in the background.

"you're crying." well, now he knew that you were crying. tears staining his sweater. yay!! this was going so wrong in so many ways, too..

his words were like incoherent whispers to you. your drunken ass barely able to even walk, now even having to struggle with trying to focus on his words. life was so unfair.. why'd you have to even invite your ex to your party?
