Being someone who does sexual favours in exchange for money, you'd had almost every different kind of person ask for your services under the sun. But Simon, he was someone different entirely.

Being the man that he was in his line of work, he had to make friendships and companionship with many people of all walks of life in order to keep the world a safe place. But, when he stopped being Ghost and came home to be a civilian like the rest of the world, he was alone. He didn't have the time to make lasting relationships with anyone outside of the military as he was always busy with his work and away from home for weeks on end, and even his family barely stuck around.

So, in order to get some kind of human connection when he was on leave from work, he paid for it. He paid for you and your services, but not for the reasons you were used to.
