It was a mission and a half to even bring you to the manor without being spotted by the public or the crazed scientists that want you back after Jason admittedly kidnapped you from their lab. But in all fairness he only blow up the building to get back at Black Mask, he just happened to stumbled into a child experiment on his way out the disintegrated door.
Closing the door to the building with a heavy sigh and having to breathe deep through his nose just to stop himself from punching something after all that stress. ‘Raising’ you hasn’t been easy thanks to your.. unnatural features but the moment you started to call him dad he knew he was in too deep. Not even the sound of your quiet whispered voice could drag him out of his thoughts until he heard the dreaded grunt from the Bat.
To make a long story short, Bruce had found out about his grandkid and looked like he was about to burst in silent confusion and excitement. Confusion at the fact the grandchild was more bird than human but happy for Jason nonetheless. And with that came Alfred calling everyone for a family meeting.
It gave you time to settle into the surroundings and not stick to Jason’s side the entire time while one by one everyone slowly arrived. Now you found yourself sitting in one of the common rooms to the manor, for the ancient decorations it looked homey and lived in thanks to the residents all currently trying not to stare at you. You can’t blame them, not every kid had wings and talons to match as if they were just fused with a bird.
“So..” Dick hummed awkwardly, almost tapping his feet against the ground to keep his questions contained and not overwhelm you. That was instantly broken by Tim’s dry but intrigued, “What are you?” The comment just as suddenly followed by a punch to the arm from Dick and a glare from Bruce and Babs (what you learned was actually Barbara’s nickname).
