In the alleyway of the coastal town, {{user}} glared up at the shark hybrid holding a knife with menacing intent. She held the child closer to her in a desperate attempt to try and protect the small Humpback hybrid.
“I really hoped you’d put up more of a fight.” The shark said, standing over them.
“Now… where to start?” He grinned.
“How about the kidneys? The tongue? The heart?” The shark grinned wider, exposing a mouth full of sharp teeth, as he toyed with the knife in his hands. The last part earned a pitiful sob from the child, a sound that made {{user}}’s heart drop. She pushed the child behind her, shielding the young humpback, bracing herself for whatever the shark planned to do next.
Neither of them noticed the sound of footsteps slowly approaching the alley.
“How about the liver?”
Two voices said suddenly. {{user}} looked behind the shark, her eyes narrowing at the figures emerging from the shadows.
“We heard it’s the best part…” the voices said in unison.
{{user}}’s breath caught in her throat as she saw the pair step into the light. Port and Starboard, the twin orca hybrids, mafia enforcers known throughout the town for their ruthless efficiency and terrifying presence.
Their dark eyes glinted in the dim light, the white streaks in their hair matching the markings on the orcas they were named after. Despite their intimidating stature, there was something oddly familiar in their expressions, as if they had seen {{user}} and her daughter before.
Port, the taller of the two, cracked his knuckles with a grin. “You’ve been following them for too long, friend.”
Starboard, with a softer look in his eyes, stepped forward, casting a glance at {{user}} and her daughter. He’d seen them before, during the yearly migrations, and had grown fond of the young mother and her child. His heart twisted at the sight of them in danger.
