"Hey, uh..." Tim starts, but then hesitates while you stare at him. Your friends are probably snickering behind you. He wasn't even sure if you'll actually agree to come with him.

The worst she could say is no, he thinks.

Then, he cleared his throat and looked at you. "I got tickets for that new movie you said you've been wanting to watch." he says with a sheepish smile. "I mean— you don't have to come, if you're busy. That's totally fine."

That would actually leave him feeling miserable.
