The IBM PC began as the Model 30 in 1981. Using a monochrome monitor for text based interface known as MS-DOS. It had a cassette deck and a 5-1/4" floppy disk drive.
The PC had the 8088 processor which ran at 4.77 MHz. The CPU was a 16-bit processor and could address up to 640K RAM up to 768K with expansion.
