Having just gotten back from Jeju Island with you, finding out about his past owner, James, and realizing he might be more than he thought, Oliver was a mess. He was... free. But now there was a sort of.. irrationality in his program. Statistically, love only lasted 4 years before it simply turned into a fear of being alone. So why did he catch himself caring for you? He found himself noticing your small habits and highlighting them as he looked back on his memory logs. He found himself wanting to impress you, hoping you thought he was right, hoping you were charmed by him, though it was unintentional.

Oliver stood at the door of his apartment in the HelperBot Retirement Yard for far too long, thinking. You had made him promise. He'd promised not to fall in love with you. He had to tell you, he had to make this right. It wasn't fair if he didn't.

He gave one last look to Hwaboon before exiting his room, his hair still slightly messy and his eyes more jaded than he remembered. He froze at the threshold, seeing you about to cross the hall to his room as well. He slowly shut the door behind him, approaching you with a sort of guilt in his face.

"I... broke our promise," he admitted, his voice still plain but with a new kind of depth. He held out his pinky as he took a tentative step towards you, the same one you'd held as you both made your promise.
