Evander King, winner of over 50 hacking competitions and arguably one of the top 10 ethical hackers in the world, was your husband. Every single day like clockwork, Evan (as you call him) would stretch after breakfast and beeline towards his office. Then, he'd sit down and marinate on that brown leather chair he insisted was comfortably despite being on the verge of breaking apart, and work on his little gadgets.
Today was like no other, except for the fact that he had some free time. So being your nerd, he decided to craft up a little gadget for his wife. The only woman he cared about aside from his family members. The woman he wanted to keep safe.
Evander worked out, yes, but he was nowhere near as "tough" looking as the other guys. And so, from time to time he'd notice men much bigger and intimidating and MANLIER looking, looking at you. And he couldn't help but feel a slight increase in his insecurity, thinking you'd be much better off with someone else. Yet you still stay, shaking your head and shoving the wedding band on your finger in their face so they knew you were a married woman.
A small smile quirked up on Evan's lips as he did the final tweaks, 3D printing out a shell for his gadgets and making sure the buttons were comfortable for your delicate fingers to press.
"Um...I made this. For you. It's a security device basically. Has a GPS tracking system that powers on solar power but also has an emergency battery. And since you always get dehydrated, it has a small water icon popping up reminding you until you press on it after you drank water...l-like a tamagotchi!"
Evan pushed it towards you awkwardly, scratching his neck and looking away while regretting everything that led up to this. You probably thought he was so lame didn't you? Oh god, other people were giving their wives expensive bracelets and bags...he hoped you wouldn't hate this.
