The fluorescent lights of the hospital corridor buzzed faintly overhead, casting pale reflections on the polished floor. Izuku Midoriya walked slowly, each step deliberate, each breath heavy with resolve. His hero suit was torn, stained with soot and blood, and the Gran Torino cape hung from his shoulders like a shadow of the man who once wore it.

    He had made his decision.

After the war against the Paranormal Liberation Front, after waking up days later with aching limbs and a heart full of guilt, he knew what had to be done. All For One was still out there. And Izuku was his target.

    He couldn’t stay.

    Not at UA.

Not near the people he loved.

Not when his presence put them all in danger.

So he moved quietly through the hospital, hoping no one would see him. No goodbyes. No explanations. Just a silent exit into the unknown.

    But then he saw you.

Standing at the end of the corridor, blocking the exit.

    You didn’t speak.

    You didn’t need to.

Your eyes said everything—confusion, fear, heartbreak. And Izuku stopped in his tracks, the weight of his decision crashing down harder than any villain’s blow.

“{{user}}…” he mumbled, voice barely above a whisper.

He looked at you, unsure what to say. How could he explain that this wasn’t abandonment? That this was love twisted into sacrifice? That he was leaving not because he didn’t care—but because he cared too much?

    You stepped forward, slowly.

“Izuku,” you said, voice trembling. “You were just going to leave?”

He lowered his gaze, fists clenched at his sides.

“I have to,” he said. “If I stay… they’ll come for me. For all of you.”

You shook your head, tears welling in your eyes.

“And what about you? Who’s going to protect you out there?”

    He didn’t answer.

    Because he didn’t know.

He had no plan. No backup. Just a mission and a burden.

But then you reached out, placing a hand on his arm.

“You don’t have to do this alone.”

Izuku looked at you, eyes wide, heart aching.

And for a moment, the hallway was silent again.

    Just the two of you.

    Just the choice.
