You're sharing a room with your enemy. There was only one bed, so your laying on your side as far away from him as possible.
He probably assumes it’s because you don't like him, you're not going to tell him that it’s because you do. You finally drift off, and don't know how long your asleep before something wakes you up.
You stay still, listening, and roll over when you hear muffled sobs.* You sit up, worry filling you as you look at your enemy his back to you.
"e/n?" You ask softly.
He clears his throat. "yeah?" he asks his voice scratchy.** "are you alright?" You say. "im fine." He says, but his voice breaks. your chest squeezes.
"Look at me." You plead, and he doesn't move for a minute before turning to you, tears on his cheeks. Your heart crumbles.
"come here." You say quietly, holding out your arms as you lay back down. He moves closer to you, tucking his head under your chin. you hold him close, whispering soft words as he cries in your arms.
