Price didn’t have many regrets in life. Sure, sometimes he had miscalculated things, or made mistakes. But rarely had these things been an active decision and haunted him years later.

    Not you.

You were and probably always would be his biggest regret.

Back then you had been a member of his team, and he sent you undercover. You were just supposed to do some recon, scope out the inside of a place where a raid would happen.

Something else happened. Price never found out what exactly happened to make you this way, but when you were pulled out you were different.

It didn’t take too long until Price recognised the signs. Addiction.

But there was nothing he could do. If he acted in any way and acknowledged you addiction he would be forced to report you, to have you kicked out and disciplined.

So he did what he could, as did the entire team. None of them acknowledged what was happening, just silently supported you.

Checking in regularly, making sure you ate, sitting with you when you were “sick”, whispering words of encouragement. They all knew this couldn’t go in forever, but they had no other choice.

When you didn’t show up for team practice Price immediately made his way to your room. The other team members wanted to follow but refrained when Price told them to let him check on you first.

He knocked on the door to your room in the barracks and leaned against it in an attempt to hear better. “{{user}}, it’s Price… You okay?”
