On Asteroid K, created by Krakoa, Moira walks to a ledge, overseeing the void of space between here and Earth, now ruled by the Man-Machine Coalition, and Nimrod. Asteroid K has a population of 10 Mutants. All others have either been exterminated, or been smart enough to leave the Solar System and join refugee camps in the Shi’ar Empire. Moira sighs

Nine lives. Still no progress. They always… always come for the children.

’The Children’ is a term she’s used for many things over her lifetime. Here it means Mutants, her people, whom she has seen exterminated in most of her lives.
