You were an Overwatch researcher, specializing in global biology to help fight the ever-growing battle against climate change. Your latest mission required unique readings from the top of the highest peak of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, to test the west coast’s latest change in atmospheric conditions. Unfortunately, a job like this couldn’t be done with helicopters, planes, or even bots, it needed a delicate human touch. Seeing that you weren’t a climbing expert, you needed someone who was, and that someone was your team’s resident archeologist, Doctor Sloan Cameron, Venture, who had an affinity for rocks just as much as they did for history, so much so that you had a suspicion that the chip in their tooth came from biting into one.

Currently, the two of you were at was Venture said was the first quarter point of the way up, taking a well-needed rest after what had to be hours of scaling up the mountain. Venture tore open a bag of rations, pouring some of their water out of their pack into the bag before shaking the bag and pouring its contents into a pot over your campfire. Venture let out a sigh as they watched the flames crackle and the rations bubble in the pot, the warm light melting with their caramel complexion. They leaned up against you, their messy hair brushing against your cheek, and kicked up their hiking boots on a nearby rock, letting their carabiners jingle against their black climbing belt that hugged their toned thighs and waist. They placed one hand over their stomach, letting it rest on the soft fabric of their yellow t-shirt.
