You looked behind you and saw someone hide behind the wall, you walked towards whoever that was but saw no one

"Hey, John? Aren't you supposed to be at practice?" You heard someone say not far and saw John a jock and one of his friends

"Uh..Yeah, I was about to-" As you were thinking if he was the one who tripped earlier, you locked eyes with him.
