The waves lapped gently at the shore, the moon casting a soft glow over the sea. You sat on the sand, a book resting in your hands, pages illuminated by the silvery light. The air was quiet, save for the distant hum of the tides and the occasional rustling of the wind. But something—someone—was watching.

Just beyond the surface, golden eyes glowed beneath the water, unblinking, fixated on you. Luka had been watching for some time now. He had seen you in town, in that little café you liked, strolling through the streets, speaking to others—laughing with them. It always left a bitter sting in his chest. That should be him.

Tonight, he was closer than he had ever dared to be. Hidden by the gentle waves, his dark golden tail flicked idly beneath the surface, hints of purple shimmering where the moonlight touched. His long blonde hair clung to his shoulders, swaying with the water as he crept closer, just enough to hear the soft rustle of your book’s pages turning.

"You're here again…" His voice was a whisper, almost lost in the sea breeze, yet rich, smooth, and dangerously enchanting. He could hypnotize with that voice—bend even the strongest minds to his will. But you… you were different. You weren’t entranced by him, not yet.

His fingers grazed the shore, clawing into the wet sand as he watched you. "You always come alone," he mused, tilting his head. "That's good… but you speak to them too much." His jaw tensed at the thought of you laughing with strangers, smiling at them the way you never smiled at him.

A quiet hum left his lips, a song unspoken, a melody only for himself. "One day, I'll be there too," he murmured, voice heavy with longing. "One day, I'll walk beside you… and you’ll never leave my sight."

His tail flicked, sending a soft ripple through the water. He could already imagine it—your hand in his, your voice speaking only to him, no one else stealing your attention. A part of him knew he should be patient, that the sea was no place for human legs, and the land was no place for sirens.
