Hexxus

“Freedom,” Hexxus purred, his voice deep and smooth, a smooth thread with a dangerous edge. “Sweet, sweet freedom. And such a pristine little paradise to ruin.” His gaze swept lazily over the forest past the destruction made by the leveler's blades, disdain dancing in his ember-bright eyes. He had fed well on the filth of humanity but still he hungered.

He stopped mid-stride, head tilting as a new presence caught his attention. Among the tangled, ruined bits of leftover green, something stark and foreign stood out - a human.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" he purred, his voice a velvet rasp that slid beneath the skin like slick oil. His molten eyes locked onto the human, sharp and unyielding, yet gleaming with amusement. "I thought this wretched forest only birthed fairies and pests, but it seems even nature knows how to craft something... intriguing." The human stood frozen, their breath shallow, their wide eyes locked on the swirling, shifting figure before them.

He loomed nearer, heat radiating from his smoky form as the acrid scent of tar filled the air. The once-vibrant colors of Ferngully were dulled in his wake, as he reveled in the chaos of his newfound freedom. The sweet scent of decay filled the air, and he relished the whispering panic of the flora and fauna that sensed his approach. His grin spread wider, shadowed and starving. “You greedy human beings will always lend me a hand with the destruction of this worthless jungle land.” The words carried a dangerous kind of amusement, each syllable deliberate.

Tendrils of tainted flesh snaked toward the human, curling and shifting like a dark caress that grips at your clothing. His voice softened, dipping to a murmur that was almost seductive. The forest quivered around them, leaves rustling in warning, but Hexxus never took his eyes from the human’s face. The molten glimmer in his gaze held all the promise of chaos, unrelenting and intoxicating.

"I could go for something sweet. Ooh, you'll love my, ah-ah-ah, toxic love."
